  A fine of 10 shillings., was imposed on Joseph Frank Humphrey, a 47-year-old farmer, of Main Street, Helmdon, who pleaded guilty by letter, to being drunk in Weston Road, Moreton Pinkney on the 19th June 1950.
​ P.C. Edlington said he found the defendant Humphrey asleep by his side of the road with his dog standing beside him and his bicycle lying a few feet away.

  THE MURDER THAT NEVER WAS:

​ On Saturday night the 1st April 1967, the police answered a 999 call and found the body of a labourer Joe Smith aged 55, of Ombersley Worcester, near a church in Kidderminster.
 A murder hunt was launched and the next day a man was arrested and charged with murder, until the pathologist told the police that the “murder victim” had in fact died from natural causes.
